Challenge Live – 24th May / 23rd June
Get around it, team!
Inspired by the epic challenges undertaken by Chris Walker and Lincoln Lewis and live right now on the Fund My Challenge platform, Fund My Challenge Chief Operations Officer, Dan Carruthers, has embarked on his first challenge, and it’s a big one!
Kicking off in May, Carruthers and Ironman Luke Cuff, are completing a “30 Day Run Challenge”
On day one, the pair ran 1km and then on day two the amount doubled. By day 30 they will be running a staggering 30km, and it’s all in support of the Albatross Nipper Program, an organisation that assists families with disabled children to get down to the beach and actively participate in nipper programs.
Donations can be made through the Fund My Challenge website or by downloading the Fund My Challenge App on the App and Google Play stores.
Growing up on the Gold Coast, Carruthers developed a natural passion for sport. With over 15 years of service as a lifesaver, the former state, national and world Surf Life Saving Champion is no stranger to the ocean or its therapeutic benefits.
It’s a similar story for Luke Cuff, the Ironman series champion and part-owner of Sunday Collab, a boutique coffee brand that aims to bring surfers and foodies together.
“We’ve been involved in the surf clubs for a long time,” Luke said.
“It’s such an amazing sport and the Albatross program provides amazing experiences not only for the kids but also their siblings and families, so we are so happy to be able to help out the Albatross Nipper Program and give back some funds to the kids who need it most.”
The pair have set a goal of raising $10,000!
The boys are encouraging all of you, our community, to get behind this challenge and support kids on the Gold Coast.
“It’s going to be tough, but we can do it. At the end of the day, we are doing it for families who are or have done it much tougher than us and we will keep that front of mind as the kilometres start to add up.”
At the completion of the challenge, the pair will have run an impressive 465km!
You can keep up to date with the boys’ daily progress on the @fundmychallengeapp Instagram as well as on the app itself!
