We have a family staying with us at our house in Goonellabah (5 mins from Lismore) who have been very badly affected by the Lismore Floods. The Bell family live in a two-story house and the water level reached about a foot from the ceiling of the top story. They have 3 young boys.
They were rescued by a canoe out of a 2nd story window and arrived at our place with literally what they were wearing and their dog.
Yesterday we were able to access the property and pretty much everything was destroyed. Due to previous floods in the area, they were not able to get an insurance policy covering them for floods.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated. They have been able to access lots of clothes locally which is great. At this point, I think funds would be the best help as they try to rebuild their home and get back to normal life.
