On Sunday 7th November, Cairns Firefighter and avid diver Dennis Fay will be pushing his body beyond its natural limits, heading out to the Great Barrier Reef to take the dive of a lifetime, for charity.
Firmly established in the Cairns Dive charter industry since 1974, Divers Den are right behind Dennis and invite you to be part of this incredible challenge and join them for a five hour trip to the Outer Barrier Reef.
Diving down to five metres in the turquoise waters of Norman Reef, Dennis will attempt to hold his breath for 4 minutes as he tests his physical and mental boundaries, while raising much needed funds for two incredible charities.
Meredith Anne Rundell Inc is a charity which grants the wishes of breast cancer patients and is close to Dennis’s heart as he cared for his own mother as she battled the illness. The Torres Strait islanders love for the reef, ocean and the environment made Take 3 for the Sea– a charity which promotes cleaning up the ocean by taking three pieces of rubbish every time you visit the beach, waterway or reef, another perfect choice.
To support this challenge, which is more than a year in the making, Diver’s Den Cairns have put together an amazing package for Sunday 7th November that you will not want to miss!
The trip includes,
- Five hours on the outer Great Barrier reef including a stop at Norman Reef (where Dennis will take the challenge & guests can snorkel above and around him)
